Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014 and released her own single Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the season, the music was played throughout Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. On November 9, she released two additional singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then on the 13th of November two singles titled The No One and pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single in February, 2019 for her debut album the same title. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
